About

Mostly self-taught, Adam Lockton studied art at GCSE and A-Level, but chose to develop his talent for art in his spare time. In 1990 Adam began by drawing pets and various animals for family and friends, and gradualy he expanded his work to incorporate his great passion in life, that of surfing.

"i try to breath life into my work by working with colours to intensify the light and show off the different characteristics of the waves, in the power, form and natural beauty"

" Everywhere I go on my travels, whether it be a weekend trip to St David's or a holiday in Portugal , the different landscapes and colours give fantastic inspiration to me"

Adam's surf art began as pencil drawings, and soon progressed to work with in and bleach, oil paints, watercolour, and various other mediums. His work varies in size from works of 2"x2" to 3ftx3ft, on canvas, paper, card and wood.

Exhibits to date include:

  • Christie's London "Cancer Research UK - Art for Life" 2001, 2002
  • Various exhibitions in the East Midland's through the Charnwood Drawing and Painting Club.
